Decoding the Private Client – Inside a Boutique Law Firm
What happens when a high-performing team is given the space to stop, reflect and truly see each other?
For most professional teams, the pace of daily work leaves little room for the conversations that matter most. The ones about how we actually communicate, how we make decisions, how we show up for each other and for the people we serve.
At MBL, we have spent years working with exceptional teams across industries, helping them unlock what is already there. Our expertise in private client services and the world of UHNWIs gives us a distinctive lens: we understand the expectations, the emotional needs and the level of experience that this calibre of client demands.
Using LEGO® Serious Play® as our facilitation method, we design structured experiences that bring invisible team dynamics to the surface, making them visible, tangible and ready to be worked with.
The result is a shift that goes far beyond the room.
This is the story of one such journey with a leading boutique private client law firm based in Athens, where the team serves an exclusive clientele and the standard of care is everything.
THE GOAL
To help a high-performing team move from individual expertise to collective strength -building a shared mindset, a clearer way of communicating and a stronger, more consistent experience for the private clients they serve.
WHAT WE DID
Over four sessions, we worked with their team through Team BBB – Building. Bonding. Bettering. A facilitated journey designed to surface what a team already knows about itself and give it shape, language and direction.
Each session brought a different layer.

The Four Sessions
Session 1 – Individual Perspective
We began with the individual. Who each person is in this team, what they bring, what they need to do their best work. Through LEGO® builds and personal storytelling, each team member had the space to share what they contribute and what they need from those around them. Colleagues who had worked side by side for years found themselves seeing each other with fresh eyes. A team functions at its best when it truly understands who is in the room.
Session 2 – Team Dynamics
How communication flows, where it deepens, what collaboration looks like under real pressure. Teams were mixed and rotated across challenges, each one designed to reveal a different layer of how this group actually works together. A real client case was brought into the room. Things got honest. The session closed with a collaborative build on a shared central pad – each person placing one element that represented their commitment going forward.
Session 3 – Client Reality
Then we shifted the lens to the client. What private clients truly need emotionally, where the opportunities to elevate the experience are, and what this team commits to upholding in every interaction. The emotional needs of a high-calibre clientele were surfaced, mapped and built into models – moving the conversation from assumption to clarity. The session ended with a shared set of non-negotiables, built and agreed on together.
Session 4 – Strategic Direction
This part was the one everything had been building towards. Each team defined their four key commitments, then brought them to a shared central pad divided into four quarters. Together, they decided what comes first, what depends on what, and what this team chooses to commit to in the year ahead. The flipchart at the end of the session was designed by the team. Entirely.
THE OUTCOME
What the program built was a team mindset.
The understanding that how you work together shapes the quality of the work itself. That communication is a professional standard as much as a legal one. That every client interaction is an expression of what happens inside the team first. For a firm that serves private clients at the highest level, this is not a detail. It is the standard.
By the end of four sessions, this team had named its strengths, agreed on its standards and committed to a shared direction. With clarity, ownership and intention.
*** Team BBB was designed and delivered by Maria Kalymnou, certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator (Level 1 & Level 2).
